Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a metal-made pallet which is strong, easily to be fabricated and friendly to the environment.

2. Description of the Related Art

A conventional pallet 1 is disclosed in FIG. 1 and generally includes a plurality of parallel elongate boards 12 and support legs 11 which are perpendicularly connected to the elongate boards 12 by nails 13 to form a rectangular pallet 1. The support legs 11 are separated and put on the ground and goods 14 is put on the boards 12. A certain height of gap is defined between the boards 12 and the support legs 11 so as to keep the goods 14 away from the ground and humidity. The gap is suitable for the forklift truck to raise the goods 14.

However, there are several shortcomings for the conventional pallet 1, which are:

    • 1. The boards 12 and the support legs 11 are wood material which is easily to be rotten and damaged. Once the boards 12 and/or support legs 11 are damaged, they cannot bear the loads as desired and could lead a dangerous result.

The damaged wood boards 12 and legs 11 cannot be re-used.

    • 2. The wood boards 12 and legs 11 might have bugs or insects lived therein which might immigrate together with the transportation and becomes invaders for different countries or areas and the invaders of species might be harmful to the forest in those countries or areas. Therefore, most of countries require the pallets 1 to be fumigated before use and this takes a lot of time and cost.
    • 3. The source of boards 12 and legs 11 are get by cutting trees and the demands of the trees hit the environment of the earth.
    • 4. In order to save the woods, the manufactures has to sort the wood to cut into similar or required size of boards and this also increases the cost of time.

The present invention intends to provide a pallet that is made by metal which are welded with each other.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a metal-made pallet which comprises a top board, a plurality of lower boards and a support part which is connected between the top board and the lower boards. The support part has recessed portions and protrusion portions. The recessed portions are fixed to the lower boards and the protrusion portions are fixed to the top board.

The present invention will become more obvious from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings which show, for purposes of illustration only, a preferred embodiment in accordance with the present invention.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

Other features and advantages of the present invention will become apparent in the following detailed description of the preferred embodiments of the present invention, with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:

FIG. 1 shows a conventional wood pallet with goods put thereon;

FIG. 2 is an exploded view to show the pallet of the present invention;

FIG. 3 is a cross sectional view of the pallet of the present invention;

FIG. 4 is an exploded view to show another embodiment of the pallet of the present invention, and FIG. 5 is a cross sectional view of the pallet of the present invention in FIG. 4.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

The present invention relates to a metal-made pallet. But below only performs take the steel as the example to explain.

    • Referring to FIGS. 2 and 3, the pallet 2 of the present invention is constructed by steel boards and comprises a top board 21, a plurality of lower boards 22 and a support part 23 which is connected between the top board 21 and the lower boards 22. The support part 23 has recessed portions 231 and protrusion portions 232 which are located in an alternative arrangement to the recessed portions 231. The recessed portions 231 are fixedly welded to the lower boards 22 and the protrusion portions 232 are fixedly welded to the top board 21. The two sides of the support part 23 are bent inward to form two respective connection surfaces which are fixed to the top board 21. A plurality of steel columns 24 extend from a top of the top board 21 and each column 24 is bent to have an L-shaped cross section by a steel board 241.

The top board 21, the support part 23 and the lower boards 22 are cut from a steel board by machine according desired specifications and the support part 23 and the columns 24 are further bent into desired shape. The top board 21, the support part 23, the lower boards 22 and the columns 24 are welded with each other for be the pallet 2 of the present invention. The goods 4 is put on the top board 21 and positioned between the columns 24. The gaps 233 in the support part 23 between the top board 21 and the lower boards 22 are cooperated with fork lift truck.

FIGS. 4 and 5 show another embodiment of the pallet 5 which includes a top board 51 having two protrusions 511 extending from two ends of an underside thereof, a plurality of lower boards 52 and a support part 53 which is connected between the top board 51 and the lower boards 52. The support part 53 has a recessed portion 531. The underside 532 of the recessed portion 531 and the two protrusions 511 both are fixedly welded to the lower boards 52. A plurality of L-shaped columns 54 extend from a top of the top board 51 and are made by metal boards.

The pallet of the present invention be made by steel boards so that the pallets can be made by machine within a short period of time. The pallets do not have the shortcomings happened in the conventional wood pallets such as problems of insects, and are friendly to the environment. The steel boards are strong and reliable and can be reused.

While we have shown and described the embodiment in accordance with the present invention, it should be clear to those skilled in the art that further embodiments may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention.
