BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The idea is to present an opportunity to sell State Lottery Scratch off Tickets as a novelty gift item called “Scratch That Gift”. This benefits the purchasers of my idea in two ways. First it offers an opportunity to sell the scat off tickets in bulk using various monetary denominations (ex $10, $25, $50, etc.). It also serves as a Point of Sale (Marketing) item that can be used to promote different holidays or occasions and highlight and/or promote new scratch off games.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The advantage of Scratch that Gift is it offers the Buyers the opportunity to sell more scratch off tickets by offering them in bulk (multi-ticket purchase) via a gift item. The items can be secured in sealed gift cans or wrapped mugs, baskets and other gift packaging. Scratch That Gift has two advantages for States and Vendors involved in selling scratch off tickets. It is a novelty gift that can be sold anyplace Lottery scratch off tickets are sold and offers the added bonus of including sales over the Internet, perhaps by Internet entities who already sell gift items, where state laws permit. This offers the vendors of the State lotteries an opportunity to sell more also thereby offering them the opportunity to increase revenues. Second it can be placed by State lottery ages into vendor locations that already carry Lottery Scratch off tickets. Since these vendor's already carry the tickets there are no marketing questions such as “Who do we sell this too?” The customer base is already in place. It offers a potential increase in revenues and gives them the opportunity to die the image of Scratch off tickets as being a single item purchase.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The idea is to present the scratch off tickets as a novelty gift. These are to be sealed or wrapped and can be decorated to reflect different holidays and or occasions. Scratch that Gift can then be sold as a bulk (multi-ticket) purchase item instead of a single purchase ticket. Businesses and State Lottery Commissions already carry Scratch Off Tickets so this would server as an expansion of their product line. The materials to be used for the different gift packages are:

The idea is unique in that the items are sealed and/or wrapped this presents a security feature in that the tickets are not easily exposed. Promotions can be used to feature various gift giving occasion(s) for the scratch off games. As a novelty item Scratch that Gift can be offered by anyone with Internet presence allowing the vendor to expand their product line, in conjunction with benefiting the different State lottery agencies that participate, since vendors would sell these tickets in bulk (ex. $10, $25, $50 increments) the opportunity for greater commissions exists. For Internet vendors that sell Scratch that Gift (pursuant to becoming State lottery agents) the profits are immediate since tickets are often provided by State Lotteries on consignment. Scratch that Gift presents the opportunity to have decorated and themed gift packaging for any holiday or occasion. The different external packaging can be generic or customized. This also presents the opportunity to make the packaging fun.
