The present invention relates to a bedsheet securing device, which secures the corners of a fitted sheet onto a mattress.
The fitted sheet is a common bedding garment that is placed over a mattress and it is typically used with a flat sheet which provides the basis of covering the mattress. The fitted sheet includes elastic corners that fit over each corner of the mattress. Ideally, the elastic corners ensure that the sheet remains on the mattress during use, however the elastic corners are occasionally insufficient to ensure that the sheet remains on the mattress. As a result, various devices and techniques may be needed to further secure the sheet in place.
The present invention relates to a bed securing device that includes: a horizontal member; a first vertical member extending from an end of the horizontal member; a second vertical member attached to the first vertical member with a hinge; and a hinge point, where the hinge point is adapted to receive a bed sheet. The bed securing device may further include an opening between the first vertical member and second vertical member.
FIG. 1 depicts a bedsheet securing device in accordance with the present invention.
The present invention relates to a bedsheet securing device that is used at the corner of a mattress to secure a fitted sheet. The bedsheet securing device includes a horizontal member and two vertical members that are joined by a hinge. An opening provided between the two vertical members allows for the insertion of a bedsheet. Once inserted, the bedsheet is secure between the two vertical members at a sheet gripping point near the corner of the vertical members. A single securing device is used in each corner of the mattress and secures the fitted sheet into place.
In reference to FIG. 1, a bedsheet securing device 100 is depicted. The bedsheet securing device 100 includes a horizontal member 40 and a first vertical member 42 and a second vertical member 44. An opening 43 is provided is provided between vertical member 42 and vertical member 44. This opening 43 allows for the insertion of a bedsheet that is secured at a hinge point 48 of the vertical members. Hinge 45 pivots and opens to allow the insertion of the vertical sheet into the hinge point 48. The hinge 45 is adapted to release and then close to secure the sheet at the hinge point 48. This particular bedsheet securing device 100 is used at each corner of the mattress and therefore secures the bedsheet in place without being too cumbersome and able to effectively secure the sheet for the user's purposes. The instant invention has been shown and described in what it considers to be the most practical and preferred embodiments. It is recognized, however, that departures may be made there from within the scope of the invention and that obvious modifications will occur to a person skilled in the art.
1. A bed securing device comprising:
a. a horizontal member;
b. a first vertical member extending from an end of the horizontal member;
c. a second vertical member attached to the first vertical member with a hinge; and
d. a hinge point, where the hinge point is adapted to receive a bed sheet.
2. The bed securing device according to claim 1, further including an opening between the first vertical member and second vertical member.
3. A method of securing a bed sheet comprising the steps of
a. inserting a horizontal member of a bed securing device between a mattress and a box spring;
b. inserting a bed sheet between a first vertical member and a second vertical member, where the first vertical member and second vertical member are connected with a hinge;
c. opening a hinge point at the intersection of the first vertical member and second vertical member;
d. securing the bed sheet into the hinge point; and
e. closing the hinge point, where hinge point secures the bed sheet in place.
