Abstract:

The Perfect Assistant is a garment with shapewear built into the inside. It is manufactured by sewing pieces of fabric together to match a specific waist measurement. Channels that contain strips of boning are inserted along the seams and throughout the width of the sewn pieces of fabric. The completed structure is then sewn to the wrong side of the garment's waist line creating a discrete compression feature that alters the body's measurements.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The Perfect Assistant is an inner facing (made of fabric materials such as cotton and jacquard) sewn to the inside of a garment along the garment's waist line and extends the full waist, torso, or thighs. The inner facing contains channels of boning used in garment construction. The outer view of the garment looks like a regular garment but the inside of the garment will contain a corset style shaper that cinches and slims the waist, torso, or thighs. The Perfect Assistant is made by sewing fabric pieces that were cut based on the client's natural waist measurement. Channels of fabric are sewn to the fabric pieces and boning is inserted through the channels. Once all pieces and channels are sewn together, the inner facing (The Perfect Assistant) is sewn to the top of the garment's waistline and pressed towards the inside of the garment. When the garment is put on, the inner facing (The Perfect Assistant) cannot be seen. It is completely discrete.
