Smart Summary: A gear type pull-out table features a sturdy frame with two main table boards on either side and an extra board in the middle. This extra board can slide out or in, thanks to a special gear system that connects to both side boards. When the gear turns, it makes the side boards move apart or come together smoothly. Instead of using sliding rails, this design uses toothed racks and gears, which helps save money and improve movement. Additionally, there are sliders that help the side boards move easily along a chute, ensuring everything works together seamlessly. 🚀 TL;DR

This application claims priority to and the benefit of the patent application titled “A gear type pull-out table”, application number 2023203045066, filed in the China National Intellectual Property Administration on Feb. 24, 2023. The specification of the above-referenced patent application is incorporated herein by reference in its entirety.
The present invention, in general, relates to furniture and fixtures, and in particular, relates to a gear type pull-out table.
A pull-out table is typically used to reduce space occupied by the table when the table is not in use and to adjust a board area of the table. A table board of a conventional pull-out table is typically divided into two halves. An extended table board positioned in the middle of the two halves of the table board can be folded downward and stored below the table board when the two halves of the table board are pulled on two sides of the pull-out table.
Conventional pull-out tables with such structures typically require two sliding rails on a left side and a right side of the table to allow synchronous pulling of the two halves of the table board on two sides. However, using two sliding rails not only increases cost, but also causes unsmooth pulling of the two halves of the table board. In addition, conventional pull-out tables with sliding rails require substantial manufacturing precision.
To address the above-recited problems, the present invention provides a gear type pull-out table that reduces cost and allows smoother drawing and extension of its table board by replacing sliding rails with toothed racks and a gear. The gear type pull-out table disclosed herein comprises a table frame, a first table board, a second table board, an extended table board, and a gear assembly. The first table board and the second table board are symmetrically disposed on the table frame. The extended table board is disposed between the first table board and the second table board. The gear assembly is positioned in the table frame, corresponding to the extended table board. The gear assembly comprises a first toothed rack, a second toothed rack, and a gear. The first toothed rack is fixed to the first table board. The second toothed rack is fixed to the second table board. The gear is in synchronous engagement with the first toothed rack and the second toothed rack. The first toothed rack and the second toothed rack are disposed in parallel on two sides of the gear. The first table board and the second table board are driven to move in opposite directions through the synchronous engagement of the first toothed rack, the second toothed rack, and the gear to join or separate the first table board and the second table board.
In an embodiment, the gear assembly is fixed to an inner frame of the table frame using a connecting piece.
In an embodiment, the gear type pull-out table further comprises a chute disposed on one side of the table frame, proximal to the gear assembly. In an embodiment, the gear type pull-out table further comprises a slider disposed on a bottom surface of each of the first table board and the second table board. The slider is configured to move back and forth along the chute to match the movement of the gear assembly, thereby driving the first table board and the second table board to be joined or separated.
In an embodiment, the extended table board is configured as a turnover table board comprising a first turnover table board and a second turnover table board. The first turnover table board is connected to the second turnover table board via a central hinge.
The present invention has the following advantages:
FIG. 1 is a structural diagram of a gear type pull-out table.

A gear type pull-out table 100 of the present invention is further described below with reference to the drawings.
As shown in FIG. 1 and FIG. 2, the gear type pull-out table 100 comprises a table frame 1, two sliding table boards 2 and 3, an extended table board 4, and a gear assembly 5. The bottom of the table frame 1 is provided with table legs 9. The extended table board 4 is disposed between the two sliding table boards 2 and 3. The sliding table boards comprise a first table board 2 and a second table board 3. The first table board 2 and the second table board 3 are symmetrically disposed on the table frame 1. The gear assembly 5 is positioned in the table frame 1, corresponding to the extended table board 4. The gear assembly 5 is disposed on one side 1b of the table frame 1 along the length direction as shown in FIG. 2. The gear assembly 5 comprises a first toothed rack 51, a second toothed rack 52, and a gear 53 as shown in FIGS. 2-3. The first toothed rack 51 is fixed to the first table board 2. The second toothed rack 52 is fixed to the second table board 3. The gear 53 is in synchronous engagement with the first toothed rack 51 and the second toothed rack 52. The first toothed rack 51 and the second toothed rack 52 are disposed parallel to each other on two sides 53a and 53b of the gear 53, respectively, as shown in FIG. 3. The first table board 2 and the second table board 3 are driven to move in opposite directions through the synchronous engagement of the first toothed rack 51, the second toothed rack 52, and the gear 53 to join or separate the first table board 2 and the second table board 3.
The gear assembly 5 is fixed to an inner frame 1a of the table frame 1 shown in FIG. 1, using a connecting piece 7 as shown in FIG. 3. In an embodiment, one side 1b of the inner frame 1a with the gear assembly 5 is provided with a chute 11. The chute 11 is disposed on one side 1b of the table frame 1, proximal to the gear assembly 5. In an embodiment, the gear type pull-out table 100 further comprises a slider 8 disposed on a bottom surface, for example, 3a, of each of the first table board 2 and the second table board 3. The slider 8 is configured to move back and forth along the chute 11 to match the movement of the gear assembly 5, thereby driving the first table board 2 and the second table board 3 to be joined or separated.
When sliding in the chute 11, the slider 8 assists in linear sliding of the first table board 2 and the second table board 3, so that the cost and manufacture difficulty are reduced and the pulling smoothness of the gear type pull-out table 100 is improved.
In an embodiment, the extended table board 4 is a turnover table board comprising a first turnover table board 41 and a second turnover table board 42 as shown in FIG. 2. The first turnover table board 41 and the second turnover table board 42 are fixed to the table frame 1 through a bearing seat 6 or a hinge.
For a specific use, to expand the usable area of the gear type pull-out table 100, a user can pull the first table board 2 and/or the second table board 3. When the user pulls the first table board 2 and/or the second table board 3, the gear 53 drives the first toothed rack 51 and the second toothed rack 52 to move in opposite directions, thereby separating the first table board 2 and the second table board 3, so that the extended table board 4 can be rotated to a position between the first table board 2 and the second table board 3 from below the table frame 1. The user can then fasten the first table board 2, the extended table board 4, and the second table board 3 mutually together using fasteners. To reduce the usable area of the gear type pull-out table 100, the user can rotate the extended table board 4 to make the extended table board 4 sink below the table frame 1, and can then push the first table board 2 and/or the second table board 3. When the user pushes the first table board 2 and/or the second table board 3, the gear 53 drives the first toothed rack 51 and the second toothed rack 52 to move in opposite directions until the first table board 2 and the second table board 3 are joined.
The present invention allows the user to conveniently adjust the usable area of the gear type pull-out table 100. The present invention precludes the need to remove the extended table board 4 from the table frame 1 or place another extended table board 4 in the table frame 1, which is convenient when there is a need to expand the usable area of the gear type pull-out table 100.
