CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATION

The present application claims priority to, and the benefit of, U.S. Provisional Application No. 63/506,386, which was filed on Jun. 6, 2023, and is incorporated herein by reference in its entirety.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates generally to the field of storage devices. More specifically, the present invention relates to a repositionable, portable pocket device comprised of a body that can be securely attached to a wearable article of clothing or accessory and features an opening that can safely store the contents of small necessities and valuables. Accordingly, the present disclosure makes specific reference thereto. Nonetheless, it is to be appreciated that aspects of the present invention are also equally applicable to other like applications, devices, and methods of manufacture.

BACKGROUND

Access to small necessities and valuables, such as a phone, keys, a wallet, makeup, hair care materials, and various other personal items, plays a crucial role in enhancing an individual's overall comfort, convenience, and mobility throughout their daily activities. The absence of suitable storage solutions within clothing, such as functional pockets, often leads to the inadvertent misplacement or loss of these essential items. This unfortunate scenario can occur when individuals absentmindedly set down these belongings and subsequently forget about them, leading to frustration and inconvenience.

Furthermore, this lack of accessible storage can have a noticeable impact on the quality of one's experiences, particularly during events or outings. The constant need to manually handle and keep track of small items not only adds to the mental load an individual carries but also detracts from their ability to fully engage and immerse themselves in the moment. This can ultimately diminish the enjoyment and relaxation that such events are meant to provide.

The prevailing solution of carrying a purse or bag, while providing a means to transport these items, presents its own set of challenges. Purses can be cumbersome to carry, especially when occupied with other tasks or activities. Moreover, there are instances where certain public spaces, such as select concert halls and sporting venues, restrict the entry of bags for security and logistical reasons. This limitation forces individuals to choose between either leaving their essential items behind or resorting to less secure alternatives, potentially impacting their peace of mind and overall experience.

Given these considerations, the development of innovative and practical solutions for carrying small necessities and valuables remains an area of ongoing importance. The integration of thoughtful and functional pockets into clothing designs, along with the creation of discreet and secure wearable accessories, could greatly alleviate the challenges associated with managing personal items. By addressing these issues, individuals would not only enjoy enhanced convenience and comfort but also have the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in their daily activities and special events without unnecessary distractions.

Therefore there exists a long-felt need in the art for a device that eliminates the need to hold onto personal items by hand in the absence of pockets or purses. More specifically, there exists a long-felt need in the art for a portable, repositionable pocket device that can be secured onto any wearable clothing item or accessory. Furthermore, there exists a long-felt need in the art for a repositionable, portable pocket device that can safely hold contents like small necessities and valuables without uncertainty and fear of losing or dropping them.

The subject matter disclosed and claimed herein, in one embodiment thereof, comprises a repositionable pocket device. The device is comprised of a body that is preferably made from a canvas or any durable material. The device is capable of attaching and detaching to wearable clothing or accessories through a fastener mechanism on the rear surface of the device. The body features an opening and a fastener on the front surface which allows for the interior placement and subsequent storage of small valuables and necessities.

In this manner, the repositionable pocket device of the present invention accomplishes all the forgoing objectives and provides a device that can be used as a repositionable, portable pocket which may be used in the presence or absence of pockets built into clothing, or purses. More specifically, the repositionable, portable pocket device can be universally applied to any article of clothing or accessory and may be safely attached and detached without damaging the material. Furthermore, the device can minimize the probability of losing items by dropping them or placing them down, thereby maximizing quality time at an event by decreasing the mental load of having to hold on to items by hand.

SUMMARY

The following presents a simplified summary to provide a basic understanding of some aspects of the disclosed innovation. This summary is not an extensive overview, and it is not intended to identify key/critical elements or to delineate the scope thereof. Its sole purpose is to present some general concepts in a simplified form as a prelude to the more detailed description that is presented later.

The subject matter disclosed and claimed herein, in one embodiment thereof, comprises a repositionable pocket device comprised of a body, an opening, an attachment fastener, and an additional fastener. Additionally, the device is meant to be able to securely possess small valuables such as keys, a phone, a wallet, personal items, hair care and makeup, or any other such item. This is done so through the front surface opening and fastener that is open and closable with at least one hand, and may be able to tightly secure contents.

The present invention is also comprised of a method of using the device. First, a device is provided comprised of a body having at least one opening with at least one fastener, and an attachment fastener. Then, the body can be attached to a garment, body part, surface, or other accessory via the fastener. Next, the fastener can be engaged to allow a user to insert an object, item, etc. into the body. Then, the fastener can be re-engaged to close the opening and secure the object, item, etc. within the body until it is needed.

Accordingly, the repositionable pocket device of the present invention is particularly advantageous as it provides a device that resolves the issue of having to hold small valuables and necessities in hand, specifically in the event that a person may not have pockets available to them. Additionally, the repositionable pocket device may be transferred with ease from one article of clothing to another, allowing for the convenient storage of small items and necessities in any environment or setting. Furthermore, the device may be universally applied to any wearable article of clothing or accessory. In this manner, the repositionable pocket device provides a portable pocket solution.
