This disclosure relates to a system for reducing dependence on nicotine and more particularly to a vape system for reducing nicotine usage or intake.
Electronic cigarettes, vape pens, or vape devices are handheld battery-operated vaporizers that are used to simulate smoking. These vape devices use a battery to heat up a liquid (e-liquid or e-juice), contained in a cartridge, a reservoir, or a tank, into an aerosol that an individual user inhales. The individual breathes in the aerosol or vapor and exhales the aerosol or vapor. The liquid contained in the reservoir can contain various chemicals or metals such as nicotine, propylene glycol, flavorings, cadmium, benzene, and ultra fine particles that can reach deep into the lungs. The liquid may also contain toxic chemicals which are known carcinogens, which could cause cancer. Some users may be under the impression that using a vape device is safer than smoking a cigarette or cigar. Further, some users may be under the belief that using a vape device will assist in eliminating a cigarette smoking habit. However, studies have found this not to be true. Additionally, some studies have found that experimenting with vaping can lead to smoking cigarettes and acquiring a smoking habit. As has been found, smoking cigarettes is harmful to one's health, can lead to cancer or other health issues, and should be avoided or eliminated.
It is also known that nicotine, in any form, is a highly addictive drug. Vaping can introduce nicotine into the lungs where nicotine enters the bloodstream which stimulates the adrenal glands to release the hormone epinephrine (adrenaline). Epinephrine in turn stimulates the central nervous system and increases blood pressure, breathing, and heart rate. The inhaled nicotine activates reward circuits in the brain which increases levels of a chemical messenger in the brain called dopamine. Dopamine leads to the reinforcement of rewarding behaviors and the sensation of pleasure. Due to the increase levels of nicotine introduced into the body by vaping some individuals will become addicted to nicotine despite the known risks to health and well-being. This addiction could lead to other addictions such as cigarette use.
Therefore, there is a need for a vape system for reducing nicotine usage that allows an individual to reduce or eliminate an addiction for nicotine. There is also a need for a vape system for reducing nicotine usage which provides for an individual to easily and systematically reduce or eliminate the need for nicotine.
