A need has been recognized in the prior art patent literature for combining a water bottle with personal safety features for the owner of the water bottle.
For example, US20140130454 describes a water bottle having self-defense features. The water bottle described includes a bottle body, a cap and a base. The bottle body includes a wall structure extending from a bottom end to a top end. The top end includes an opening. An outer surface of the wall structure may include a plurality of finger grip recesses and at least one thumb grip recess. The cap is configured to releasably connect to the top end of the bottle body to close the opening with a fluid-tight seal. The cap has a pointed portion that provides at least one top pressure point. The base is positioned at the bottom end of the bottle body and includes at least one pointed portion that provides at least one bottom pressure point. The at least one top and at least one bottom pressure points provide self-defense features for the water bottle.
US20150259096 discloses a transportable bottle for consumable liquids includes a closed bottom with sides extending upward to an open top, forming a reservoir. A waterproof lid attaches to the open top, which contains the contents of the bottle when fitted and allows filling of the bottle when removed. The sides of the bottle feature recesses or hollow areas or both to accommodate features for personal defense, alerting, and/or navigation. External to the closed bottom of the bottle is a hard striking surface, which may be opened to access a compartment external to the reservoir of the bottle, but within the sides of the bottle.
However, the prior art lacks effectiveness at least in making it easy for the owner to summon aid, among other limitations apparent from review of the prior art.
Therefore, the present invention is a water bottle configured to provide visual and audible protective features for the personal safety of the owner or holder.
According to an aspect of the present invention, there is provided a self defense water bottle, comprising: a stainless steel bottle; a lid; a speaker; a flashlight; a blunt window breaker point; a button for the flash light; a rim light; and a cavity for the rim light.
FIG. 1 illustrates a perspective view of the water bottle according to an embodiment of the present invention.
FIG. 2 illustrates a top view of the water bottle according to an embodiment of the present invention.
FIG. 3 illustrates an exploded view of the water bottle according to an embodiment of the present invention.
The present invention is an all-in-one insulated water bottle, personal alarm with flashing light, emergency glass breaker, and flashlight.
Among aspects of an embodiment of the present invention are:
A 24-oz insulated water bottle. Body of bottle to carry 32 oz of water.
A ring light around the top of the bottle for heightened situational awareness at night. The ring light is activated by the button on the light.
An alarm, wherein if the alarm is triggered (by either a button on the device or a remote command via an electronic device nearby or anywhere in the world), the ring light and flashlight strobe.
135 dB Siren sounds when the alarm is triggered.
USB-C PORT (In-Line with Handle)
The rechargeable lithium battery is safely contained within the outer insulated wall of the bottle, which could be BPA & Plastic Free, for example Food grade 18/8 stainless steel with a Base thin enough to fit in car cup holders and Insulation for temperature maintenance: the cold stays cold and the hot stays hot.
Striking neon-colored colors/exterior.
Ergonomic handle designed for easy carry (and self-defense).
Integration with a mobile app for additional functionalities, including personalized lighting designs for the ring light and the ability to notify friends and family in of the event of trouble.
A plastic ‘cup’ that snugly sits around the base of the bottle (for those moments you need to share water with your pup).
A base compartment to be 4″ in height that can clip onto your bottle (perfect for stashing dog treats).
Sturdy plastic straws.
Leather bottle holders.
The hinge lid of the present invention is unique and there is nothing on the market like it. The ¾ section of the lid will be transparent. Transparent lids are often made from materials like Tritan (our target manufacturers use Tritan), which is known for being BPA-free and durable, appealing to health-conscious consumers.
The ¼ section will be Tritan transparent lid set over stainless steel with a black finish underneath. The ¼ section will hold the flashlight and alarm speaker grills.
The battery and electronics will be contained under the ¼ section.
The red triangle is a blunt steel point (½ an inch high) for emergency situations where there is a need to break a window.
As the present invention will sit in the center console of most cars, users have the perfect opportunity to provide the world with an easily-accessible way to break a window if they happen to be in an accident.
The point will be 15 mm high and rounded. Keeping the point low ensures users can safely sip without fear of impaling their heads on the point.
Battery Length: 1 charge=1 week of use (battery conveniently recharges via a USB-C port).
Embodiments of the present invention will be described in accordance with the appended drawings.
In FIGS. 1-3, the following elements are denotated by an associated reference numeral.
The illustrations of embodiments described herein are intended to provide a general understanding of the structure of various embodiments, and they are not intended to serve as a complete description of all the elements and features of apparatus and systems that might make use of the structures described herein.

The alarm and light features could be condensed into just the lid which could be sold to fit with third-party bottles.
The alarm and light features could also be placed into a phone case.
Other embodiments may be utilized and derived from the present invention, such that structural and logical substitutions and changes may be made without departing from the scope of this disclosure.
Accordingly, the specification and drawings are to be regarded in an illustrative rather than a restrictive sense. Thus, although specific embodiments have been illustrated and described herein, it should be appreciated that any arrangement calculated to achieve the same purpose may be substituted for the specific embodiments shown.
